The TVJA school board is responsible for operating the school. According to TVJA's constitution, this includes:

• Organizing itself at its May meeting;
• Holding regular meetings;
• Establishing policy governing the sound operation of the school;
• Counseling with the Oregon Conference Education Department regarding education policy, including selection of faculty;
• Determining the salary of all classified employees, according to conference guidelines;
• Implementing the plans and policies of the school;
• Preparing an agenda and organizing the business of the annual constituency meeting;
• Acting upon recommendations of the faculty and staff in consideration of student expulsion from school;
• Approving the Home and School leadership;
• Appointing the Admissions and Personnel committees; and
• Appointing standing committees and such other committees as deemed necessary.
